January The Most Dangerous Month Of The Year For Nevada Car Accidents

The Nevada Department of Transportation tracks and organizes the statistics regarding Nevada car accidents every year and provides the public with a report regarding these crashes. One of the ways in which these statistics are separated is by month, and as stated above January appears to be the most dangerous time of year on the roads in the state. According to the NDOT, more than 5,100 Nevada car accidents occur in January, which is a higher average than any other month on the calendar. In addition, these collisions lead to more than 2,300 injuries and to nearly 25 fatalities.

These statistics have remained largely constant in recent years, and they are likely due to many different factors. First, January is a time of year when people from all over the world tend to visit the state in extremely high numbers as compared to other points on the calendar. All of these motorists on the road who are unfamiliar with their surroundings create danger. In addition, New Year's Day is a holiday that is unfortunately tied to the consumption of alcohol.
