Every year, more than 800 Nevada pedestrian accidents occur. These crashes lead to more than 500 injuries and to nearly 50 fatalities. As a result of the collision, the pole fell and landed on the woman, killing her. The driver of the van then drove back across the road and crashed into two parked cars before coming to rest.
The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon. The 35-year-old woman was walking on Bonanza Road west of Pecos Road. The driver of the van is a 69-year-old male and a resident of Las Vegas. The identities of the two parties were not released to the public pending notification of family members, and police are continuing to investigate the situation.
