When and Where Crashes Usually Happen in the U.S.

It is no surprise that the most common time that deadly motorcycle crashes happen during the week is from 3 pm to 6 pm: rush hour. According to the Insurance Information Institute (III), nearly 25% of motorcyclists lose their life at this time. The riskiest time for motorcyclists to go out on the weekend is between 6 pm and 9 pm, making up about 24% of accidents during that time.
Although the lowest number is unknown, III data suggests that the fewest deadly accidents that occur during the week are from 3 am to 6 am, making up just over 3% of the total crashes. On the weekend, the lowest rate is a little later from 6 am to 9 am with a 2.8% fatality rate.
Car accidents
The National Safety Council (NSC) affirms that Saturdays from 8:00 to 11:59 PM is the most common time for deadly car accidents to occur during the spring and summer. Fatal car accidents also seem to occur most frequently on the weekends.
Who Causes Car and Motorcycle Accidents in the U.S.?
According to the III, in 2018 almost 37,000 males were involved in fatal car crashes, along with about 13,000 females. People aged 25 to 34 died in car accidents more than any other group at 17.7%, whereas the age group that ranked the lowest was 16 to 20 years old at 5.3%.
The NHTSA details that motorcyclists over 59 years old accounted for the greatest number of fatal motorcycle accidents in Nevada in 2018.

According to the III, speeding is a leading reason for both motorcycle and car accidents. In 2018, 16.7% of motorcycle and car accidents were caused by speeding—both leading to fatalities.
Alcohol-Impaired Driving Accidents In The U.S.

Of these deadly accidents caused by a high BAC, over 24,000 car occupants lost their lives, in addition to nearly 5,000 motorcyclists.
